Opium Power is operating 90 Megawatts and delivering a further 150 Megawatts of large scale Battery Energy Storage Systems to assist the UK’s energy supply transition to total reliance on renewable energy.

This is development and delivery of Green Energy Technology on an industrial scale.

The National Grid has to supply power at a steady frequency of 50Hz, and due to increasing fluctuations caused by intermittent renewable energy generation from geographically dispersed locations, this is getting more difficult to do.

To balance fluctuating supply and demand, our battery systems rapidly respond in milliseconds to the Grid’s requests to supply additional power or take in excess when needed.
